The Reflection Nebula

Viewed in stereo, you will see a dark hole punched through a nebula. When I saw first saw this beautiful Hubble picture I assumed it was a hole... then I did my research and found out the dark mass is actually a condensation of cold molecular gas and dust (called a bok globule) so thick and dense that it blocks light. This sits on top of the Reflection nebula from our perspective. I am leaving my initial interpretation for now.. because despite being wrong... it looks so right!
